Revamping the iPad Series: Anticipated Updates and What to Expect This October

Apple is gearing up to unveil fresh updates to its iPad range this week, with the anticipated announcement likely to occur on Tuesday, October 17. This information aligns with what we've heard from our independent sources.

The trio set for an update includes the iPad Air, iPad mini, and the standard iPad model. The anticipated upgrades are believed to be more about internal enhancements rather than major design overhauls.

It's about time the iPad Air and iPad mini received an update, and this October's refresh promises to equip these tablets with the latest Apple Silicon technology. The official announcement will be made through a press statement.

Launched last spring, the current iPad Air model boasts an M1 chip. There are whispers suggesting that this could be upgraded to the more powerful M2 chip.

On the other hand, the upcoming iPad mini is expected to house the A16 Bionic chip, a modest step up from the existing A15 Bionic chip. Furthermore, recent reports hint at a new display controller for the iPad mini, aimed at rectifying the jelly scroll issue seen in the current models when content is scrolled.

The basic iPad model, updated just a year ago, is the newest member of the series. The prior update introduced sleeker bezels, a variety of colors, and a Touch ID feature on the side button. Currently powered by the A14 Bionic chip, there's speculation on what chip the imminent 11th-gen model might carry. However, considering the iPad mini's upgrade to the A16, it's conceivable that the standard iPad will follow suit.

For those curious about the iPad Pro series, no changes are expected at the moment. The latest update was in October 2022, with the succeeding models, which are rumored to have OLED displays, likely to be launched later in the coming year.
